Description
This tutorial teaches you how to wrap a cabochon using the Grooved Bezel Weave. The weave pattern naturally creates a groove that is perfect for fitting straight sided cabochons into so you can wrap them securely without covering up too much of the front of the stone. This is a great way to wrap small shell cabochons, such as Paua shell cabs, or the Anadara Devincta cabochon in the photo above. This weave will also hold larger cabochons well, but be sure to use thicker frame wires to help hold the stone securely. You can use this weave to hold cabs with a slightly beveled edge, however, it works best for cabochons that have straight sides.
