Prison Of Enchantment – Wire Wrapped Crystal Point Pendant Tutorial

$2.83

Description

This tutorial will teach you how to wrap an undrilled crystal point in thin coiled wire. Although the setting looks delicate, it is really quite sturdy, as the thin wire is coiled over a thicker core wire.

This setting was designed for undrilled crystal points. However, as you can see in the tutorial illustrations, you can use this technique to wrap drilled points as well (you just won’t need to put a wire into the hole). I’ve also used this technique to wrap various sized tumbled stones with excellent results.

Skill Level:
Intermediate

Materials:
• 13” of 22 ga Round Soft Wire
• 11’ of 30 ga Round soft Wire
• 1 Stone Point (For this tutorial I am using one that measures 8mm wide and 31mm long – you can use a different, but you will need more or less wire depending on the stone)
• 18g Jump Ring (the inside diameter must be large enough to accommodate the thickness of the wire plus the cord or chain you plan to use with the pendant)

Tools:
• Chain nose pliers
• Round nose pliers
• Wire cutters
• Flat nose pliers
